Vivint Internet
The new model utilized fixed LTE radios on the micro-hub home that could offer speeds over 100 mbps and were not as dependent on line-of-sight to the subscriber homes. Hubs, as well as gigabit subscriber homes, would be equipped with Vivint’s in-house developed radio, ironically named Pandora. Consisting of 4 steerable radios, Pandora was capable of 1000 Mbps and could link peer-to-peer with other Pandoras to increase infrastructure redundancy.
The new offer was available on two speed tiers of $70/month for gigabit and $50/month for 100 Mbps. Keeping its legacy VoIP phone offer, partnerships were established with Eero for wireless mesh and Sling for TV solutions.
Ultra Networks added 200 subscribers to the new network before Vivint Internet unexpectedly closed its doors shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic began.
